Abstract (PubMed)
The study examined whether pediatric infectious disease specialists' vaccination practices influence colleague behavior. Among 30,017 children aged 12-23 months in Kaiser Permanente Southern California, 10.2% received MMRV and 89.8% received separate MMR+V vaccines. MMRV was more likely to be administered to children who were non-compliant with vaccine recommendations. Specialist use of MMRV significantly predicted other providers' vaccination choices in multivariable logistic regression analysis.
